The islands are dead

Island biodiversity disappears at an alarming and threats will be exacerbated in coming decades

The disappearance of species in the islands is more severe than in mainland habitats. So say many experts, whose estimates suggest that the problem is worse in the coming decades. Invasive species, altering their natural space for a construction and unsustainable tourism, and climate change are among the main threats. Therefore, measures are urgently needed to prevent unique biological wealth of the Canary islands.
